Sport NZ and High Performance Sport NZ established the National Partner Strengthen and Adapt Programme to improve the capacity, capability and resilience of selected national partners and their delivery networks, so that they are best positioned to meet the needs of participants and athletes into the future.
34 National Sport delivery partners have been selected by Sport NZ since its inception in July 2020. Wave 1 started with 11 partners and has grown to include a total of 34 partners over 4 waves. Further information and examples of the projects that partner organisations have embarked upon can be found here.
School Sport NZ is pleased and excited to have been included in wave 4 of this initiative with work beginning through its discovery phase in March 2023. This has necessitated an extensive information gathering process of our key partners within the school sport sector. With your support over the last few months, we have completed surveys of close to 2900 rangatahi, over 110 secondary school principals, 45 national sport organisations, and the Regional Sport Directors network.
You will no doubt be aware that our bi-annual sport co-ordinator survey is now live and closes on Friday 19th May. Your voice is imperative to shaping any potential projects that we hope will support you in providing quality school sport experiences as sport co-ordinators and directors. We are acutely aware that time is a huge barrier for the sector, and that we are asking for a considerable piece of it by completing this survey! However, I cannot stress how important your insights are and ask that you please schedule 30 minutes into the remainder of your week to compete this survey. As a very small incentive all completed survey responses will go into a prize draw to win one of 3 x $100 Prezzy cards.
Once we have completed our discovery process we will make the findings of this sector wide survey available to you and will begin scoping what we believe will be transformative initiatives that ultimately will support you to deliver all of the benefits that participation in school sport brings.
Thank you in advance for your time and insights and we look forward to engaging more with you over the coming months.
